Chilled Water Storage SystemWith electric rates on the rise across the nation, it makes sense to conserve energy and to run appliances and air conditioners during off-peak hours. Downtown Saint Paul businesses keep their employees cool during peak hours but still enjoy the benefits of lower electric rates thanks to chilled water storage. A chilled water storage system cools water at night using off-peak electricity and then stores the water in a huge tank. The water is distributed to customers during the day at a reduced cost. Ever-Green Energy operates two chilled water storage tanks in downtown Saint Paul. One holds 2.5 million gallons of chilled water and the other holds 4 million gallons.
